The boss of the world’s biggest advertising agency WPP Sir Martin Sorrell has fought off another shareholders’ revolt at the company AGM to pocket a 54.5 million euro salary.
Shareholder discontent was down to just 22% of investors who refused to back the package for Sorrell, who bulit the company from nothing in 1986 into today’s behemoth.

In 2012 60% of investors voted against Sorrell’s pay packet.
The company says more than 90% of the total is performance-related.
Sorrell reminded the audience that anyone investing £1000 in the company 20 years ago would now have £15,831 to play with.
